ICS Canada has launched a Special Series of Chartering Workshops in Montreal entitled 3 Potholes on the Road to Successful Chartering

– Problems to avoid rather than to learn about the hard way!!!” 

Workshop 1 was held on on Wednesday, September 11th 2024 over lunch at the office of Fednav. The topic was “Owner’s Obligation to Start in Time” and the discussion was led by John Weale, former Vice President of Risk management at Fednav. Over 30 members of the shipping industry attended including ship operators, shipbrokers and maritime lawyers.

Workshop 2 will be held on Wednesday, October 9th 2024 over lunch at the office of BLG.  The topic will be “Demurrage, Damages & Indemnities” and will once again be led by John Weale. 

Workshop 3 will be held in November, date and location to be advised. The topic will be “Letters of Indemnity”.
