The letters MICS offer a point of difference in our difficult and ever changing environment. However, beyond these intrinsic benefits, the Institute offers a range of services to support its members.

Professional Knowledge and Development

  • The Institute’s own Shipping Network Magazine is available exclusively to all ICS members online or in hard copy upon request. It’s a shipping journal that discusses up to date professional topics as well as keeping you linked in to major ICS events and activities.
  • Lloyd’s List, the only daily maritime newspaper, offers all ICS members a 15% discount.
  • IHS Fairplay magazine has teamed up with the ICS to provide members a 20% discount on their annual subscription for first time subscribers.
  • Cranfield MBA scholarships – there is an opportunity for members, with the appropriate entry qualification, to be awarded a scholarship for the tuition fees of the MBA programme from this world renowned organisation.
  • The Members’ Only Area of the ICS UK website is also a great way to help develop your professional knowledge.

  • The International Airline Passengers Association provides ICS members with a range of exclusive travel services at a 10% discount on IAPA membership
  • Travel Agents Dove Travel can make the following arrangements for ICS members: discounted scheduled, low cost no frills and chartered flights from all UK airports – Travel Insurance – Car Hire – Airport Parking – Hotel Accommodation – Ferries – Foreign Rail and Eurostar/Eurotunnel.
  • ICS members have access to Corporate Team‘s hotel booking which provides a total booking service worldwide together with discounted rates against rack rate.

  • ICS Head Office have secured a corporate rate at Motel-One, located in the Minories close to Tower Hill, approximately a ten minute walk to the Head Office in Gracechurch Street.   • You are very welcome to use this hotel and obtain these preferential rates for any trips – connected to the Institute or not – as long as you use our name. We need to use between 50 and 100 in 12 months to retain preferential rates at this newly opened hotel close to the City and excellent transport links which would benefit the Institute greatly in the future.
