5th Annual Dry Bulk and Commodities Conference in Vancouver, BC

On November 15th, 2018,  ICS Canada Branch hosted 5th Annual Dry Bulk and Commodities Conference in Vancouver, BC.

Keynote speakers Anthony Humberston, Senior Freight Analyst, Oldendorff Carriers and John Kearsey, Head of Research, Simpson Spence Young provided analysis of the dry bulk freight market.

Mark Hemmes, President, Quorum Corporation and Casey McCawley, Location Manager, Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd.presented
Canadian Grain market overview.

Ups and downs of the bunker market were discussed by Tony Brewster, President of Marine Petrobulk and Anthony Humberston,  Oldendorff Carriers.

Agenda was concluded by Robert Lewis-Manning, President. Chamber of Shipping and Krista Trounce, Project Manager, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA), who talked about challenges facing the marine industry in Western Canada  and VFPA ECHO Program.

Traditional conclusion of the Conference day was ICS Christmas Pub Night hosted by Mahony and Sons Irish Pub at the Canada Place, Vancouver.

5th Annual ICS Dry Bulk Conference was attended by over 170 people from Canada and USA. Next year Conference is confirmed for Thursday November 14th , 2019.
